Mr. Dan O'Mahony |
IV Degree |
Dan began his training in Tae Kwon Do under the instruction of Mr. Brian Buckley at his club in Clonakilty in the mid-1990's. In his early thirties at the time, Dan took to Tae Kwon Do immediately; having previously trained for a number of years in Shotokan Karate, many of the basic techniques were already familiar to him due to the similarity of these arts. In the year prior to his First Degree Black Belt exam, Dan began training in the advanced class at Mr. Buckley's Skibbereen club, affording him the opportunity to train with more students of his grade. Dan was awarded his First Degree by Great Southern Tae Kwon Do in 1999, having passed his exam under Master Norman Creedon, President of the Tae Kwon Do Federation of Ireland. Grading under Master David Oliver, President of Tae Kwon Do International, Dan has since been awarded his Second, Third and Fourth Degree Black Belts. He opened his first club in Rosscarbery, County Cork, shortly after receiving his First Degree and since then has gone on to open many more as well as re-opening the Clonakilty club which Mr. Buckley had since closed down, forming the Warrior Tae Kwon Do Schools that we know today. Over the past ten years, Dan also held the posts of coach to the Tae Kwon Do International Irish team and Vice President of Tae Kwon Do International Ireland. |
